Abstract:
In order to improve the stability of low dropout linear regulators (LDO) under high load current conditions across the entire load range, an LDO circuit with load tracking compensation is proposed. The circuit employs an enhanced dynamic zero compensation technique and impedance attenuation technology, achieving zero tracking and pole tracking. Additionally, current buffer compensation is utilized to address the issue of right-half-plane zero caused by Miller compensation, ensuring stable operation of the regulator across a wide load current range. The circuit is designed using a 0.18 μm BCD process. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed LDO achieves a quiescent current of 56.3 μA, with a phase margin of 52° under no-load conditions, and 85° at a full load of 3 A. The LDO maintains excellent stability throughout the entire load range.
