Abstract:
Both of the Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE) and the Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) are widely used time-deterministic networking technologies. TTE achieves high real-time performance and determinism through precise time synchronization mechanisms and periodic task scheduling strategies based on offline scheduling tables. TSN, on the other hand, provides more flexible traffic management solutions while ensuring real-time capabilities through a series of sub-standards (such as TAS, CBS, etc.) and mechanisms. This thesis systematically compares these two network protocols(TTE and TSN) in terms of synchronization mechanisms, traffic control, scheduling strategies, and fault tolerance capabilities. The study reveals that, given the space sector
's requirements for high real-time performance, high bandwidth, and high reliability, TTE is better suited for critical space missions due to its superior time synchronization precision and deterministic guarantees. Although TSN has unique advantages in certain application scenarios, considering the extremely high safety and reliability demands of space systems, TTE
's fault-tolerance mechanisms and deterministic characteristics make it a more ideal choice. The findings of this study provide a scientific basis for the design, optimization, and selection of space communication networks.
