Abstract:
With the continuous advancement of modern communication technologies, the application demand for Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) has exhibited a significant growth trend. The rapid evolution of integrated circuit technology has not only accelerated the overall development of ADCs but also fostered the emergence of various hybrid architecture ADCs featuring both high speed and high precision. This paper introduces and analyzes the latest research progress in hybrid architecture ADCs, specifically covering three types: Pipelined successive approximation register (Pipelined-SAR) ADCs, voltage-time domain hybrid ADCs, and Time-Interleaved (TI) ADCs. It elaborates on the breakthroughs of different hybrid architectures in key performance indicators such as high speed, high resolution, and low power consumption, analyzes the advantages and limitations of these technologies and architectures, and provides an outlook on their future development trends.
